The Brandon Fire Department was founded in 1889. We purchased our first new fire apparatus in 1929, a 1929 International truck with a pull-behind steam operated pump. Both pieces of equipment are still owned by the fire department today and both are still operational, although they are relegated to parade duty. We respond to roughly 100 fire, medical and rescue calls per year. We cover the city of Brandon as well as the surrounding rural area and a stretch of I-94. We also provide various forms of water and ice rescue. Our coverage area is roughly 100 square miles in size. We operate out of a single station located in Brandon, MN and have a roster capacity of 27 personnel.
