All of our members are volunteer. We do not receive payment for calls or meetings that we attend and we have no full-time or part-time paid positions, but that doesn’t mean that this job isn’t rewarding. We are here to help protect our community and we take pride in knowing that we do our absolute best to achieve that goal. Even though our members are not paid-on-call, all active members are enrolled in PERA (Public Employees Retirement Association) and will receive a pension upon retirement from the fire department based on their years of service.

All of our members are required to complete training for both Firefighter I and Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) and are also required to maintain their training through continuing education. Members are required to live or work in our coverage territory. We meet twice per month (2nd & 4th Monday). Applicants must be 18 years of age and have (or be able to obtain) a valid Minnesota driver’s license. Our doors are open to all eligible candidates. Members who wish to participate in arduous activity (like wearing an SCBA) are required to pass an initial medical exam and annual medical screening tests.
